This day trip is a great platform to let Buddhist to get together and learn the positive things we need in our life. This trip is not only open to Buddhist, but also for non-Muslims, as we knew that learning is not about where you are or who you are. This trip aims to make participants learn and experience, especially through activities like Sutra transcript and meditation, enabling participants to be more active in pursuing Buddhist philosophies and knowledge.

Visiting the temple compound

Ice breaking activity

Asides from meeting new friends and admiring the architectural elements of the temple, I was surprised to meet some of my former schoolmates!

As a member of the Taylor's Buddhist Club, I joined this trip as an opportunity to gain experience, expand my network of friends and understand more about my faith. After paying respect to Lord Buddha, we had an ice breaking session. That is where I got to know new friends throughout the activity. During the sharing session, I learnt about the 4 Noble Truths and 8 Sufferings of all sentient beings and ways to decrease the amount of suffering in life by decreasing unnecessary cravings, ignorance, greediness, hatred and follow the 8 Righteous Paths taught by Buddha.

Also, I learned about traits the younger generation, which is us, should possess, which includes self-control, ability to differentiate what is right and what is wrong and capability to hold responsibilities. The things I learned in this trip is useful in my daily life and make me a better person. Besides, I am glad that I built a stronger connection with other club members through this trip.
