In this varsity-level competition, participants from all schools present their ideas on ways to decreasing carbon-emission, urban heat island effect and other negative impacts on our environment through ways of waste management, innovative technology or any other methods.
Our team's idea is to revolutionize residential housing plans by redirecting waste from housing units to an urban farming zone. Agriculture with close proximity to the living areas produces organic food back to the residents. This decreases the demand of transportation of food from other places and fully utilize waste as fertilizer, thus making residential houses more self-sustainable.

project 2a: observation deck @ cape rachado
For this assignment, we went to Cape Rachado, Melaka to conduct a site analysis of the physical context. Data such as site plan, existing structure, landscape, climatic studies, circulation pattern, vistas and activities are to be included.
The whole batch is divided into two, Site A(hill) and Site B (beach), each with approximately 80 people. We were in team Site A. Next, Site A is divided further into mini-groups, each with its own task. Our mini-group was in charge of existing structures within the site. Team Site A is also given the case study Grand Canyon Skywalk.

In groups of 2, we design an observation deck (with a maximum volume of 30m cube). Furniture must be fit and incorporated into the design. This structure should correspond to the site chosen. Adequate access, circulation and fenestration are mandatory.
