building construction 2

project 1: skeletal construction

Skeletal construction is one of the basis of architecture since the emergence of modernism. It is widely used for building support systems, making it vital to our knowledge in this field.

This project aims to create an understanding of skeletal structure and its relevant structural components, its distribution of loads as well as analyze the issues of strength and stability in design.

A bus shelter in the scale of 1:5 is to be constructed to accomodate 5-6 people, demonstrating our knowledge of skeletal frames and its joints.
