In this varsity-level competition, participants from all schools present their ideas on ways to decreasing carbon-emission, urban heat island effect and other negative impacts on our environment through ways of waste management, innovative technology or any other methods.
Our team's idea is to revolutionize residential housing plans by redirecting waste from housing units to an urban farming zone. Agriculture with close proximity to the living areas produces organic food back to the residents. This decreases the demand of transportation of food from other places and fully utilize waste as fertilizer, thus making residential houses more self-sustainable.

project 2: building services in public buildings
Under the tutelage of a lecturer, we performed a thorough study and analysis of multiple service systems associated to the building, including mechanical transportation system, mechanical ventilation system and both passive and active fire protection systems.
During the progression of this coursework, Studio 4's final project, which is designing an elderly retreat centre is ongoing. Each group needs to select a an elderly center scheme among the group members and mine was chosen.
This assignment concerns us with the planning of building services in a relatively larger building for public use. Together as a group, we proposed systems that includes a hydraulic lift, a dumbwaiter, water sprinklers et cetera, corresponding to the building's design and requirements.
As an outcome of this project, I managed to identify relevant information related to the building systems given attention and have a greater insight on how these building services systems work.
